It is hard to resist a smile. While smiling inanely and inappropriately is to be avoided, the science of facial expressions tells us that when face muscles are stimulated electrically to replicate different facial expressions, the subject reports feeling the emotions that are being demonstrated on their faces. Don’t wait till you are old and wrinkled to discover that you wore a permanent frown. I wouldn’t advise grimacing in a fake smile but with a little practice it isn’t hard to start smiling genuinely at people and situations. They say it takes less muscles to smile than frown.
